HOW DID YOUR JOURNEY AS A WEDDING PLANNER BEGIN?

I have been passionate about weddings ever since I was a kid. I used to draw pictures of wedding dresses and glamorize anything that had to do with them. The first wedding I attended; I was the flower girl. I remember, even at such a young age how happy everyone was and how special I felt being a small part of my aunt and uncles’ special day. Ever since, I have wanted to continue being a small part in as many “special days” as I can. A wedding is one of the most momentous days of a couple’s journey together. Being there leading up to the big day and taking part in putting it all together gives me so much joy. The happiness that exudes at a wedding is unlike anything in this world and I am lucky I get to experience it over and over again.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH EVENTS!

I went to school at Johnson & Wales and graduated with a bachelors degree in Sports Entertainment & Event Management. During my time at JWU I took specialty classes in wedding planning & event logistics, falling deeper in love with the possibility of one day becoming an event planner myself. In 2014 I moved to Washington D.C to pursue a career in event management. From 2014 until 2018 I worked at various hotels in D.C. and Boston where I booked, planned and facilitated on site social events and weddings. During that time I also freelanced for wedding planners as their “Day-Of Event Planner” which further cemented my dream of one day starting my very own wedding planning company!

EXPLAIN YOUR “VIBE” AS A WEDDING PLANNER...

We use the term bestie a lot in our packages, that is because I really do foster a BBF like relationships with all of our clients. When you create a relationship like this it makes for more open and honest conversation throughout your planning, it also just makes our detail calls & walk through more fun! When you’re planning a wedding, you need someone with a light and airy attitude who is positive & helps you relax! We are a group of type A, organized and detail-oriented event professionals who also bring the relaxing energy you need when navigating through your planning process.

When was AFE founded?

Formed in 2018 by Ashley Miller (formerly Fidler) began a journey to create a vision she had dreamed of prior to studying Sport Entertainment and Event Management at Johnson & Wales University. Through her passion for perfecting the event planning process, AFE has grown exponentially over the last 8 years, servicing small and large events alike to provide a consistent and unparalleled experience.

Do you only service events around Boston?

Ashley Fidler Events is a Greater Boston-based wedding and event planning company. We service events all around MA & Rhode Island including Boston, the South Shore, North Shore, Cape Cod, Newport, Providence etc. We also service events all over the East Coast & U.S. Basically if we can take a plane, train or automobile to get there- we can make it happen!

How would you describe your design aesthetic?

We specialize in uniquely crafted events. Not one event is the same as the next. Whether you are looking for a coastal inspired modern wedding, an elevated tented backyard experience or a high end, timeless affair- we got you! We thrive in a design space where we are trusted to take your event to the next level.
